While she’s always been creative, Minnie Mortimer could never have anticipated her full-time fashion career. Born on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, Mortimer graduated from boarding school and immediately immersed herself in the world of photography as an assistant to Oberto Gili. Some years later, after moving to Malibu with husband Stephen Gaghan, the globetrotter decided to try her hand at dressmaking. Friends loved the frock, and it wasn’t long before Vogue took notice of her entrepreneurial efforts. Formally launched in the fall of 2009, Mortimer’s eponymous line has since been featured in dozens of newsstand glossies, boutiques and department stores worldwide. Meanwhile, Mortimer has collaborated with such enviable partners as W Hotels, Boast USA, and Three Dots.
