When you first leave to go off to college, you would get all kinds of advice from friends and family telling you to study this or take up that… It was probably a little frustrating at first because you felt like they should let you make your own decision about what you want to study, right? Of course. But you have to understand that they were only giving you that advice because they wanted what was best for… meaning they wanted you to pick a field where you would have job security. It didn’t make sense to you at the time but it sure does now!
When you told your friends and family that you wanted to study something like art or communications, it probably made them worry a little because those are tough industries to have a career in. Success in those types of industries is truly dependent on where you live or where you will be trying to establish your career.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, there are career industries that prominent wherever you may go. It is these industries that your friends and family wanted you to take up because they knew that you would never have to worry about job security because these fields will always need people to work.
Get a Job in These Career Fields
In America, there’s a job for everything… literally, everything! Did you know that there are actual jobs that will pay you to cuddle with cats? Although cat cuddling sounds like a dream job, and you don’t have to go to a four-year college for it, it’s not the highest paying job… but if you get a job in these four fields, you will never have to worry about looking for a job.
The healthcare industry isn’t going to slow down or shut down any time soon. Why is that? Because there will always be a need for it. Illness and disease are constant in this world. Some diseases have cures while others don’t but can be controlled with the use of medication.
As people get older, the need for healthcare workers become higher in demand… so much so that the demand for healthcare professionals are outnumbering the actual number of qualified professionals. Because of that, there are job boards and search engines available for people looking for jobs in the healthcare field.
If you want to become a doctor, there are online sources that allow physicians access to positions in internal medicine, gynecology, and radiology… you name it, you’d be able to find it there. And it’s not just doctors in high demand either. Physical therapists, certified nursing assistants, and registered nurses are also in high demand too!
Software Development Industry
As you already know, the world we live in is driven by computers and software developers can be looked at as the creators of this computer-driven world. Just think about all the technologies you use in your everyday life… whether it be different apps for games or shopping, software shapes how we live.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) states that the employment of software developers will projectively increase from 2016 to the year 2026 by 24% (that’s a considerably fast rate!). The great thing about this industry is that there are many other industries that need this industry. From consumer products to various services that different businesses need, as a software developer, you’ll never have to go without a job!
Think about it like this… as long as there are products and services out there, there will always be a need for sales representatives to sell those products or services. This is also an industry that other industries need. Just think of all the different sales representatives you encounter on a regular basis… There are people who sell cosmetics, hair care products, fitness products, and medications!
In this particular field, you not only need to be knowledgeable about the product or service you’re selling… you also need to have impeccable soft skills as well. Soft skills like pleasant and effective communication. With sales, you essentially need to be charming and persuasive. You’re either trying to get people or businesses to buy something that they want or need. A lot of the times they don’t want to buy the product or service you’re selling but your job is to convince them otherwise! Because of that, the world will always need great salespeople!
